We have always given equipment and installation quality the highest priority and with our relocated facility we have created a technically and aesthetically brilliant mastering studio.

Primarily an analogue environment (Maselec, Dangerous, Fairman, Manley, Summit) with associated digital elements (Weiss, Dangerous, TC Electronic, Prism Sound, Â Antelope) and with the awesome PMC MB2 XBD-A main monitors at its heart, it has an accurate, fully developed and no-nonsense sound, essential for the all important mastering processes and techniques of today.

We use a pair of active Focal SM9 monitors,  a high-end, professional solution that is renowned for precise stereo imaging, incredible transient response. The speakers feature a 1-inch pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter, a 6.5-inch midrange driver, an 8-inch bass driver, and an 11-inch top-mounted passive radiator.

In addition referencing is also made on the Hedd Type 20 and the classic studio staples, the Yamaha NS-10s.Â
Our desk is centered around the SPL Hermes console, an advanced analog mastering router which uses SPL’s proprietary high-voltage operational amplifiers for massive headroom (+32.5 dBu) and an ultra-wide dynamic range.

The console is allows us to reference different mastering chains at the click of a button, allowing us to make the best and most well-informed decisions.

Our masters pass through both passive and parametric EQs, we use a combination of old and new to attain a 'best of both worlds' result.

Amongst others, we utilise an SPL PassEQ which was inspired by the classic passive equalizers of 1950s and 60s and a Sontec MEP-250, a legendary five-band stereo parametric equalizer that is known for an open, incredibly sweet, and "pretty" high end that adds air without harshness.
Compression is a huge part of the mastering process and we favour Handcrafted Labs Varis, a hand-built, all-tube, point-to-point analog unit with custom Edcor input and Carnhill output transformers.

Also used is the FCS P3S, a high-end, analog VCA-based stereo compressor which was designed by Roger Foote.

In addition to the analog chain, we make the best use of the finest plug-ins available today.

Our software includes mastering suites from Weiss, a line-by-line code port rather than a simple emulation of the legendary, broadcast-grade digital mastering hardware.
